Coaching with Stan
I work with intelligent, capable individuals who are struggling in a particular area, not meeting goals or ambitions, or just have a sense that they are meant to make a shift somewhere. As a professional coach, I engage in a dialogue with you about these areas which reveals new possibilities, creates change, and inspires you to reach your desired outcomes.
I am trained in ontological coaching, which examines our way of being and who we are becoming. We normally look at the world through the lens of what we are doing rather than observing ourselves and the world in a way that reveals the hidden factors that shape our actions. I can help you focus the lens on your inner microscope so you can move forward with more clarity and ease.
The recent decades have been described as volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous. This description seems to apply even more since the pandemic with our new understanding of the workplace, social engagements, and our experience of family. These changes can lead to stress and overwhelm, and require new skills and adaptability to manage decisions at work and in our lives.
One limitation is that we are often encouraged to think our way through problems. Our brains are incredibly good at solving problems, but when we are faced with hard choices or where the complexity is high, we can feel the stress of not finding an easy solution. My holistic approach looks at what we are feeling with our emotions, and what we are sensing in our body to gain wisdom from these new areas to complement our intellect. We can have a “gut feeling” about things, but since we aren’t taught how to interpret them, we tend not to listen. If we can learn to be aware of our emotions and our felt sense, and learn how to use the information appropriately, then we find that our decisions become clearer and our anxiety goes down. We can become more resilient in the face of greater and greater challenges.
If this resonates with you, I would love to schedule a conversation to explore what you are hoping to achieve and you can get an experience of what our dialogue would be like.
